Plaineo use cases

What you can organize with Plaineo

Plaineo is not limited to a generic to-do list. Built-in categories organize common parts of everyday life, while custom categories let you create your own structured system for anything from medical appointments and house repairs to pet care, subscriptions or client follow-ups.

Organize information according to what it means

Most task managers store every item in roughly the same shape. Plaineo categories can describe what the task represents. A ticket needs departure and arrival details, a voucher needs a code and expiry date, a contact needs phone numbers and links, and a bill needs an amount and payment deadline.

You can use Plaineo's built-in categories immediately or create categories that match your own life and work. Custom fields are optional: keep a category simple when a title is enough, or add structured parameters when information should be extracted, displayed, searched or projected onto the calendar consistently.

Built-in Plaineo task categories

Plaineo starts with five category groups and 14 practical categories. They include recognition guidance and, where useful, structured extraction fields designed for that kind of information.

From everyday input to an organized task

How Plaineo chooses the right task category

Automatic task categorization is not just a search for one matching word. Plaineo's AI task classification considers what the input represents, why the user may want to save it and which category can organize its useful details. These distinctions help similar-looking inputs become different, practical tasks.

Ticket vs Event

An owned admission or transport document with a booking code, passenger, seat, gate or route belongs under Ticket. A flyer, invitation, announcement or sales page for a scheduled happening belongs under Event.

Bills vs Offers

An invoice, receipt or payment document for something already purchased or payable belongs under Bills. A product, service, subscription or package the user may want to compare or buy belongs under Offers.

Places vs Contact

A restaurant, store, office, park or destination saved because the physical place itself matters belongs under Places. A business card, provider advertisement, company page or resource saved for later contact belongs under Contact.

Action Required vs Document

A message from a school, doctor, bank, delivery service or institution asking the user to do something belongs under Action Required. A contract, certificate, report or formal record kept mainly for reference belongs under Document.

Choosing a shopping category

Shopping input can be separated into Groceries, Office Supplies, Health & Beauty or Hardware & Electronics according to what the user intends to buy, keeping generated lists useful in the right context.

Custom vs built-in categories

Custom recognition guidance, keywords and field definitions help a specialized category compete with broader built-in choices. The user can always correct the category when the context is ambiguous or personal.

How Plaineo category extraction works

Plaineo's AI intake does more than copy visible text. It first identifies what the submitted content represents, then uses the matching category schema to extract the facts that matter for that category.

The exact pipeline depends on the input. Images and documents can use visual extraction, URLs can supply page content, and voice or typed text can use category descriptions and keywords where that workflow is enabled. Custom-category image extraction is the primary configurable workflow; voice and text support can be enabled where currently supported.

1

Understand the input

Plaineo receives supported text, voice, image, document or URL content and prepares it for analysis.

2

Choose the category

Recognition descriptions and keywords help distinguish a ticket from an event, a bill from an offer, or your own custom category from everything else.

3

Extract and create

The selected field schema guides extraction. Plaineo creates an editable task with structured data and retains relevant source context or attachments.

From captured information to scheduled action

AI task extraction is only the capture step. Plaineo turns useful information into work you can schedule, remember, repeat, share and complete. A flyer can become a calendar event, a payment date can become a deadline, and a message can become a reminder with its original context still available.

Turn dates into calendar events

Extracted date and datetime fields can become calendar starts, ends or deadlines. This helps convert flyers, tickets, appointments and documents into calendar-ready tasks instead of manually copying every date.

Add reminders before work is due

Add reminders to a task or event so a payment, appointment, pickup, renewal or required action does not disappear after it has been captured.

Create recurring schedules

Turn repeating chores, maintenance, medication, household routines or work follow-ups into recurring tasks while keeping individual occurrences manageable.

Keep the original source attached

Preserve the image, document, URL or other source context with the task. When it is time to act, the original flyer, invoice, ticket or instruction remains available for reference.

Edit and search structured details

Correct extracted values, add missing context and use consistent category fields to find useful details later. The task remains editable rather than becoming a locked AI result.

Share tasks and responsibility

Share an individual task or a calendar group so other people can see changes, ownership and completion. This supports family planning, household coordination and collaborative work.

For geeks: category field types

The field type controls input behavior, display formatting, AI output guidance and storage shape. Public API clients can create custom categories with a resultStructure containing these field definitions.
