Turn household voice requests and automations into actionable tasks

Create shopping items, chores, repair tasks and reminders through connected Home Assistant and Nabu workflows. Plaineo turns each request into an organized task that can be scheduled, assigned and managed with the rest of the household plan.

Make smart-home input part of everyday task management

Home automation is most useful when it leads to an action someone can actually complete. A spoken request in the kitchen, a maintenance routine or another connected workflow can create a normal Plaineo task instead of disappearing as a temporary voice-assistant command.

The result joins the same calendar and task system used on mobile and desktop. Household members can review it, correct details, add a date or reminder, share responsibility and mark the work complete.

Household tasks you can create through home automation

Use connected voice and automation workflows for both quick capture and recurring household responsibilities.

Shopping and errands

Add groceries, household supplies and errands while the need is still visible, without opening a form or leaving the room.

Chores and maintenance

Create cleaning, garden, repair and equipment-maintenance tasks with useful dates, categories and notes.

Household member assignment

Use configured aliases and permissions to create a task for another allowed connected person rather than always assigning the default account.

Connected automations

Use Home Assistant or Plaineo API workflows to turn relevant smart-home events and routines into tasks that remain visible until completed.

Multilingual voice in shared spaces

A configured Nabu workflow can understand and answer in English, Czech, German, Slovak, Spanish and Portuguese. People in a multilingual household can speak naturally in a supported language rather than learning one fixed command format.

The spoken request can include what needs doing, when it belongs and who should receive it. After creation, the task remains editable in Plaineo if any interpreted detail needs correction.

Send the task to the right person

A household voice request does not always belong to the person standing near the device. Connected membership, allowed assignment settings and spoken aliases can direct it to another household member.

Explicit permissions keep that convenience controlled. The target must be connected and allowed by the integration configuration before a request can assign work to them.

How a home automation becomes a Plaineo task

1

Speak or trigger the request

Use a configured Nabu or Home Assistant voice workflow, or send relevant task data from an authorized automation.

2

Interpret and organize it

Plaineo uses the request, configured destinations and allowed users to create a structured task in the appropriate planning context.

3

Act on it in the household plan

Review, schedule, share, edit and complete the task in Plaineo across the connected user's devices.

Home automation task examples

Connected requests can capture small needs immediately and keep larger household responsibilities visible.

  • Say that dishwasher salt is running low and add it to the household shopping plan.
  • Create a reminder to water the garden tomorrow evening while working outside.
  • Add boiler-filter replacement to home maintenance with its planned date.
  • Ask a connected Nabu device to create a school-preparation task for another allowed family member.
  • Use an authorized Home Assistant automation to create a maintenance task when a configured condition occurs.
  • Make a household request in Czech, German, Spanish or Portuguese and receive confirmation in the same supported language.

Configure automations and household access deliberately

Home Assistant, Nabu voice and API task creation require an internet connection, valid Plaineo authorization and the corresponding integration setup. A general sensor event does not create a Plaineo task unless a configured workflow sends the request.

Limit assignment to the household members and destinations that each workflow needs. Review important dates, names and maintenance instructions after AI interpretation, especially when a voice request could be ambiguous.

Home automation tasks FAQ

Can Home Assistant create tasks in Plaineo?

Yes. An authorized Home Assistant or Nabu workflow can send a request that Plaineo turns into a structured task.

Can I add shopping items through a Nabu voice device?

Yes. A configured voice workflow can turn a natural shopping request into an organized Plaineo item.

Which languages can the household voice workflow use?

The current integration supports English, Czech, German, Slovak, Spanish and Portuguese for voice input and spoken confirmation.

Can a voice request assign a task to another person?

Yes, when the person is connected and explicitly allowed in the household integration configuration. Spoken aliases can identify the intended person.

Can a smart-home event automatically create a maintenance task?

Yes, when an authorized Home Assistant or API workflow is configured to send the relevant task request when that event occurs.

Do home automation task workflows work offline?

No. Voice recognition, AI interpretation and communication between Home Assistant, Nabu and Plaineo require an internet connection. Created tasks can then participate in Plaineo's normal offline-first workflow.
